So EA just finished their live show, to be honest I’m not a huge fan, I don’t like sports game, and because of that I feel a bit “meh” most of the time, going through so many different sports games.
A thing I want to mention before going into Battlefield 3 and how that will kick the ass out of MW3 (my opinion) let’s talk about some shit talk from EA. They start by saying that they will keep it simple, their show will be all about the games and game developers, unlike certain other companies that bring celebrities on to the stage. Being a hint towards Microsoft for bringing out ICE-T during the showing of Gears of War 3. And after a while… there they go bringing in American football all-stars on to the stage. When that happened… well let’s just say my jaw dropped.
This is the shit right here! The demo EA just showed for the game was stunning, looked great, and made you feel like this is an actual FPS trying to stimulate a somewhat more realistic warzone. It made me drool and long for this game so bad.
If Modern warfare 3 is the arcade game of war.
Battlefield 3 is the war simulator.

They also announced a few other important things. To begin with: RELEASE DATE OCTOBER 25. This if I remember correctly a date not earlier revealed.
OPEN BETA in September. Online stats and community will be free! They mentioned to send a message to MW3, we do the same thing for our players, but free. Let’s see how they will react to this fact, will the new MW3 Elite online thingy also become free within time to fight against BF3?
Hello everyone and welcome back to the old me that actually watch E3 news and blog about it! Just watched the whole Microsoft Conference live, and that means XBOX 360 and Kinect. Following is the list of things that gets the thumb up from me.
1. Tomb Raider
I just love the look of this. Me and my brother was watching it and we bought nodded to his comment: This feels like Resident Evil 4 did when it came out at first. He hit the nail on the head, it really does feel like a new beginning for Tomb Raider, and in a great way! The in game presentation we just saw started with Lara being captured and trapped in a cave. Plenty of action, new look and feel and a style that will redefine how see Tomb Raider. I love you new Lara, if the game is as good as your new style, this will be a huge hit.
2. Minecraft On xbox 360!
It’s true! Notch you little bugger! Getting deals with huge companies like Microsoft without telling us before hand. You sneaky man. I love Minecraft, don’t play it much but I love it, and the fact that this will make the game even bigger. I don’t mind it, don’t mind it at all. As it is now, Minecraft on console will be exclusive for Xbox 360. Oh and also, you will be able to control the game with kinect… don’t know why that would matter…
Let us continue with the less interesting moments and parts…
Have you heard of it before? You know what it is? Didn’t think so. Go go games about Rome!
So much Kinect!? It feelt like any movie trailer right now ending with the words NOW IN 3D! Either they’re having problem selling the damn thing or they are just very happy about having it. Don’t know what it is. But most games showed was about the whole Kinect business. Don’t care for it.
3. Halo 4
This is the start of a trilogy apparently that will keep the Halo series going. I’m sorry, great looking trailer. But… I’m just not interested
How can you not love it! I’ve always been a huge fan of the subject madness and insanity, when it comes to games or any kind of entertainment like books or movies. Not only because of the weird things that can happen or take place, but also because of how they portrait the human mind. The latest call of duty even touched on the subject of brainwashing and how this showed up to the main character as visions and planted memories.
Silent Hill 2 is also game that intrigues me. “Everything” in that world was based on the main character James, memories, thoughts, feelings and even his own subconscious. It’s one of the games that I still return to forums from time to time to see what kinds of discussions are going on, or just read up on old ones. How the nuns is about his sexuality, pyramidhead being a creature he summons upon himself to punish him for what he done. IT IS AWESOME.
Alice: Madness Returns seems to have a lot of these hidden meanings as well, or at the very least I hope so. I hope they will let the community find small bits and pieces in the game that explains Alice and her state of mind without revealing it all in the story. It may be that, or it will just be a insane world where Alice uses her knife (and other weapons) to pass through obstacles. Either will be fine, in a way, I guess..
So why did I post all this? Becuase I’ve just seen the latest trailer ofcourse! Enjoy!

So there it is, the two FPS giants of this very moment. Some would argue that Halo and such should be mentioned but I don’t believe any of them comes to this standard. Excuse me, I don’t really mean standard when I say it like that, I mean games that takes place today with soldiers that might as well have been true (not really).
So let give me a few seconds to go on to YouTube, why? Cause that’s one of the places where the fans really fight it out. The fan boys of both games, type down angry words in a mix of opinion why the game they play is the better one. Of course my own opinion will matter more then all of these comments, but it’s still fun to start of somewhere around an “emotional lane”.

“don’t get this game on the 360 it’s rubbish, the graphics are terrible and the frame rates are shocking, the concept of the game is great but it’s got some real issues. after playing mw2 and cod4 which is a smooth as glass with great controls this game is unbearable to play. very poor effort EA”
“It’s probably awkard because DICE must’ve thought about knife spam. To be honest, having a harder time getting a knife kill makes it so much more rewarding & much more encouraging to use it as a stealth tactic to eliminate snipers or those failing to watch their surroundings rather than run through the gunfire and hope for the best.It’s what Battlefield is about. Teamwork & strategy. And it awards you much more for doing either rather than being a one man killing machine. That’s why I love it”
Something I found interesting while looking for these comments, is the fact that they were all found under Bad Company 2 videos. Tried to look in the comments of Modern Warfare 2 videos as well, but mostly found: “This is the best.” “This is the shits.” “Join my room for prestige 10.”
There are also a few mentioning’s of Bad Company 2 but most of the creative comments are posted under the Bad Company 2 videos themselves. Maybe BC2 fans feel they have more to prove to the FPS community than what MW2 players have to.
So let’s examine a few points with both games. Examine what works best and why, if there is such a thing as “best”. Also keep in mind that most of these thoughts will be connected with multiplayer, not so much the single player campaigns of the games.
Graphics are becoming a bigger and bigger part of gaming as we know it. People can often get turned off by the fact that the games don’t look like they “should”. Of course lesser graphics doesn’t mean that a game is worse or better, it may be connected with system, budget, skill of developers and of course how it works for that particular game.
If I had to pick one of the games when it comes to graphics, it would probably be Modern Warfare 2. Is it that much better? Perhaps not, but it’s a lot more tightened down and focused then in Bad Company 2. Why is this really? The thing is that BC2 covers a much bigger area, everything around is destructible and can be blown to bits or shot down. This also gives you a better feeling of a battlefield, it could also explain why the graphics are somewhat worse at some points. This is of course out of a map and scenery aspect, when it comes to characters I would have to say that I prefer the way they are portrayed in BC2.
Who wins in the big graphic wars of FPS? I would have to say Modern Warfare 2. Don’t get me wrong though, Bad Company 2 is great when it comes to graphics as well.
For people that have played both games, I’m pretty sure you already know the outcome of this one. Modern Warfare 2 has some great music and sound effects, the weapons sound great and are really well portrayed. Sadly, it’s around the guns where the magnificent sound work stops. The rest of the sounds cover what it should do, footsteps and grenades and such, but don’t really do much else.
Bad Company 2 however don’t only have great sounding guns, but it changes depending on where you are and gives a great realistic sounds when heard from afar (from other players), should also be mentioned that MW2 also have this function, the guns do sound different depending on the distance, but BC 2 does this a lot better. It sounds like a battlefield, and that’s something they should be proud of, the sounds of tanks, grenades and helicopters are also very significant, they fill a space in picture of sound that surrounds you, and you can even use this to a tactical advantage in multiplayer, you can listen to where you’re opponents are and such.
This factor is also recognized in MW2, where footsteps can be heard from the direction of people walking around, sadly, I feel that the maps have such a straightforward layout (and are generally small) that you mostly know where the opponents are going to pop up. This does a lot more when playing smaller games and/or one on one.
When it comes to sound – Bad Company 2 really stands out.
This is such a touchy subject, it really is. What you prefer as a player is so personal, and some people will like BC2 controls better and vice versa. What we really can see as a difference here is that BC2 has a somewhat bulkier control, a bit slower and also includes vehicles. MW2 is a lot quicker and some would say smoother, I must admit that I myself sometimes wished for the same quick responsive controls in BC2, but this is mostly when experiencing close quarter combat, something that is not as common in BC2 compared to MW2. Each game has the controls it needs to be efficient and used correctly. At this point it really feels as though the games are of different genres, Bad Company 2 – a war game, and Modern Warfare 2 – a small conflict game.
Both games have controls that function, non will really stand out of the winner here.

Finally we get the expansion for this great strategy game! It seems as though they picked a rough month to release it though, together with Final Fantasy XIII, Command & Conquer 4 and several other good titles. Never the less I’ve completed the game one and half times and played a little multiplayer and feel ready to review the strategy beast. Be aware that this review is for single player only!
Let’s start with what’s been added, that we really don’t have to discuss that much, the lvl cap of your units is now 30, and several new items and types of items have been added. Compared to before when selling items would only give you XP, it now also give you better stats and new weapons and such to use, a sweet little addition to make the item handling more important. Some of the new items include different kind of ammunition, psychic power for the new added Librarian and of course more of the good old weapons, armor and equipment.
Another new feature is “Corruption”, in the main story of the game you will fight the ultimate Warhammer 40k antagonist: the Chaos Space Marines. These are marines possessed by evil, and they fight alongside daemons and heretics. In the campaign you will have the option to different actions that will either remove corruption or add corruption. At a first glance there seems to be nothing but a positive thing to be possessed, you get to use great equipment, new universal abilities during missions (example: reviving all units with full strength). There are also items that will give or remove corruption if you send your units to mission equipped with them.
So what does it change other than giving your units awesome abilities? This will be for you to find out yourselves. It’s not mind-blowing, but why spoil the game?
Then we have the new added unit, or hero if you so wish; The Librarian. For all players enjoying abilities and using boosts and special attack to get through the levels, this will be very fun for you. The Librarian uses different equipment to give him different powers, and even his weapons and armor do the same thing, reminding a lot of what a Final Stand hero would be like. Not even the Commander or “yourself” have the same kind of options, which is a bit sad in my opinion. Being able to switch your character with the Librarian would have been sweet, of course he would need somewhat of a boost to be a standalone hero.
The story was much better than I expected it to be. With more comments from your fellow soldiers in-between missions and even comments during the briefing, make it feel less straight (even though it is). You can also ask questions before the missions’ starts, sadly there are no multiple options so it doesn’t add much more than some interaction.
The units and missions still work the same way they did before, and even though the missions have become much better when it comes to story and difference between them, there seems to be several bugs in the unit handling. They don’t react properly to the enemy at times, and will not follow orders correctly. Depending on the stance you give them (Close combat or range combat), they can turn from killing machines to scarecrows. If too far away and in close combat stance, they won’t even move towards the enemy, if to close and in the range combat stance, they will sometimes try to runaway to create a distance so they can shoot. Another thing that I’ve noticed is the sound of the game, it really twitchy in the voice work, some lines seems a lot louder than others and it will make you tweak the sound a few times. This is only between missions though, in the actual missions its not really clear or at least not as annoying.
With the bugs aside, the missions are still solid and with several new ideas like a tank mission it feels fresh. Several of the bosses are better designed when it comes to what’s going on. Yet my biggest complaint is the few bosses that reminds us to much of the stock bosses in the first game, you basically just have to wait them out, removing the self healing ability from the bosses with more health could have been a good idea.
I should really talk about the new additions to the multiplayer and the new two Final Stand heroes, but I feel I will have to cover them in another review or article all together.

What can I say…
Lost in Nightmares in a new DLC for Resident Evil 5, it’s the first part of two episodes, the second one coming later this year. Let’s just start off with what you get for your money with Lost In Nightmares.
An extra episode for the game.
Another Mercenary mode called Mercenary Reunion.
I probably forgot about something now but this is what you will see straight up and look at when you get it. Let’s start off with the main game part you get, It’s somewhat of a flashback playing Lost In Nightmares. You play as Chris and Jill and you will notice as soon as you get in to it, that this is one Spencer Mansion remake, the first half of the game reminding you of all the horrors that the first game had.
For true fans of the series, this is welcome; you will walk around nervously in your first play thru in fear of what they may have added to this house. I like that the game brings up this feeling, in a much better way than the whole fifth game did, you actually get stressed out and feel the fear crawling up your skin. Very well done.
I can’t really tell much more then this for one reason, which will lower the score of this DLC greatly. The length of the episode, with a friend you will be able to beat this in between 20 and 40 minutes. This is without reading documents that are placed around the episode, with that added you have about an hour maybe more of play time. That’s still not a lot. It feels as if they could have released both episode at the same time and that would have given you sufficient single player action. Right now, it’s disappointing. I’m not saying the game itself is bad, and you will enjoy playing it a couple of times, even if only to get the new achievements.
Graphics are good as always, and sweet old school touch have been added were you get a short animation when walking through doors in the first part of the game. This is very sweet for the fans that have stayed with the series. For players that only played Resident Evil 5 and even maybe RE4, will get lost in many of the old game references, but it’s been like this for quite some time in the series. Always going back to what happened in the older games.
The new Mercenary mode isn’t really “new”, I haven’t unlocked all the maps yet, but for what it looks like, it seems as though it’s the same maps in the first Mercenaries. The characters are new and this will give you a lot of play time that the episode didn’t give you. If you enjoyed trying to beat mercenaries for the characters the first time, this won’t let you down, new equipment builds and clothes may sound like nothing, but it will make you hunt for those last few points.

Då var nyheten här. Super Play säger hejdå i tidningshyllan och kommer lämna ett sorgset spår efter sig. Har läst och följt tidningen sen första numret (även om det inte var jag som inskaffade tidningen då) då tidningen hette Super Power om mitt minne inte sviker.
Har varit en intressant resa och har alltid tyckt att Super Play har givit en bra blandning av information. Blandade konsoller, nyheter, retro och lite annat smått och gott. Mycket snack om hur det blivit sämre med ny layout och liknande och det är väl lite blandade åsikter och känslor där.
Snyggt men kanske inte funktionellt? Jag vet inte. Inte viktigt nu längre i vilket fall. Tråkig nyhet och hoppningsvis får vi se

Ni som inte vet vad det gäller så har domen på Pirate Bay ägarna äntligen fallit. Så här blev det. 1 Års fängelse vardera och 30 miljoner i böter. Det som står ovan är dock skrämmande.
